Another episode of Tenali Rama has aired on Wednesday
continuing the story which ended with Tenali Ramakrishna being sent to the
market to buy vegetables as punishment that he did not bring the foreign writer
home with him.
This episode starts with Tenali Rama going to the market and
asks for a price of vegetables. The vendor tells him his name and sells the
vegetables at a very low price in expectation of getting his name written in
the book of the foreign writer. As he moves on, he sees another vendor
distributing snacks to the people in order to impress the writer. Tenali Rama
in his usual asks him that if the writer doesn’t know his name what he would
describe him as in the book and suggests him to tell his name to everyone. The
distributor follows the advice and starts telling his name to everyone. Tenali
Rama comes aside and expresses his anger that everyone in the kingdom is acting
in order to get their name in the history.
On the other hand, Thathacharya tells his wife that a
foreign writer is coming to their house to write about them and scolds her for
keeping the room dirty. He orders her to immediately clean the room and gets
injured in the process. The writer enters Thathacharya’s house after knowing
how the cow dung cakes are made in a hilarious manner.
In the presence of the writer, Thathacharya acts in a very
loving manner with his wife to which the wife feels so good that she faints.
After a series of hilarious jokes that arise in the conversations between Thathacharya,
his disciples, his wife, and the writer the writer takes leave to go the
Emperor Krishnadevaraya.
The queen too acts in a loving manner with the Emperor by
which he is surprised. While he wonders what the reason behind this gesture
might be, the queen reveals that she wants to be part of the traveler’s book as
the loving queen of Krishnadevaraya. As they both engage in a conversation with
the writer, the royal dancer comes into the room with her servants and sets
food on the table surprising the king. The episode ends there hanging people
wondering what could happen next.
