A historic name Tenali Rama, showcases a journey of 20-years-old boy Tenali Rama who always aims of becoming rich and famous but fails to chase his dreams as he is too lazy. Another episode of Tenali Rama has aired on Wednesday continuing the story which ended with Tenali Ramakrishna being sent to the market to buy vegetables as punishment that he did not bring the foreign writer home with him.

This episode starts with Tenali Rama going to the market and asks for a price of vegetables. The vendor tells him his name and sells the vegetables at a very low price in expectation of getting his name written in the book of the foreign writer. As he moves on, he sees another vendor distributing snacks to the people in order to impress the writer. Tenali Rama in his usual asks him that if the writer doesn’t know his name what he would describe him as in the book and suggests him to tell his name to everyone. The distributor follows the advice and starts telling his name to everyone. Tenali Rama comes aside and expresses his anger that everyone in the kingdom is acting in order to get their name in the history.

On the other hand, Thathacharya tells his wife that a foreign writer is coming to their house to write about them and scolds her for keeping the room dirty. He orders her to immediately clean the room and gets injured in the process. The writer enters Thathacharya’s house after knowing how the cow dung cakes are made in a hilarious manner.

In the presence of the writer, Thathacharya acts in a very loving manner with his wife to which the wife feels so good that she faints. After a series of hilarious jokes that arise in the conversations between Thathacharya, his disciples, his wife, and the writer the writer takes leave to go the Emperor Krishnadevaraya.


The queen too acts in a loving manner with the Emperor by which he is surprised. While he wonders what the reason behind this gesture might be, the queen reveals that she wants to be part of the traveler’s book as the loving queen of Krishnadevaraya. As they both engage in a conversation with the writer, the royal dancer comes into the room with her servants and sets food on the table surprising the king. The episode ends there hanging people wondering what could happen next.

A comedy version of the historically reputed comic poet Tenali Ramakrishna in the house of Krishnadevaraya- the Emperor of Vijayanagara Empire has recently commenced on SAB TV. Owing to the storyline, the serial was created in a hilarious manner which garnered plenty of attention and fan following among the fans Hindi TV serial Fanatics.
The serial has three main characters- Tenali Rama played by Krishna Bharadwaj, Tathacharya who is the arch-rival of Tenali Rama played by Pankaj Berry, and Krishnadevaraya- The emperor played by Manav Gohil.
Let’s look at the recap of the episode of 8th May
While the entire court of Krishnadevaraya is in order, a traveler from Portugal arrives in claiming that he had heard the greatness of Vijayanagara Empire and would want to write about it in his memoirs. On being asked about why the task is important, the traveler explains that writing about a certain Kingdom, its people, its culture, its thoughts and the lifestyles, the world knows what about the certain kingdom and it is honorable for the kingdom itself. He also says that through his writings Vijayanagara Empire will be a part of the world history. And saying all this, he expresses his wishes to write about the husband and wife relationships in the kingdom because he had heard a lot of great things about the marriage and the loving relationship between a husband and a wife in Vijayanagara Empire. While saying this, he says that whoever gets into his book will be immortal and his name will be written in golden letters in history.

The writer requests the king to meet the queens and write about them. The king being in a troubled position with his wives asks him to first write about the Tenali Rama Krishna and his wife to which Rama Krishna retorts that being the eldest among all, it is justified to write about Tathacharya. While Tathacharya tries to explain to the writer about the cow dung on the walls the news that a writer has arrived from a foreign country and that he is going to write about the husband and wife relationship in the kingdom, reaches Tenali Rama’s house and his wife starts to act very lovingly. Things go haywire when Tenali Rama gives them the news that the writer had gone to Tathacharya’s house to write about them, they come into their original attitudes and send him out to bring vegetables.
